Report of Public Speaking Competition 20.03.2018
A Public
Speaking Contest was organised by the Kautilya Parishad on 20th
March 2018. The contest started with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The
rules were announced to the participants. The contestants were allowed to speak
for maximum three minutes on any topic of their choice related to economics.
Both English and Hindi mediums were allowed. The contestants were marked
equally on their ability to speak in public and their content.
There were
eleven participants who spoke on topics such as unemployment, inflation,
predatory pricing and logistics among others. The idea of having such a contest
was to make students aware of the current issues and to help them get rid of
the fear of speaking in public. The best three participants got cash prizes
worth Rs. 600/-,Rs.400/- and Rs.200/- respectively along with a certificate and
a trophy as a symbol of sixty year of excellence in teaching of our college. A
consolation prize of Rs.100/- was also given and certificates were distributed
to all the participants.
